It’s been too long since we’ve taken a pit stop at the Night Water Cooler to discuss the issues of the day. Namely: what’s better, a nighttime sip of water from a glass on your bedside table, or a midnight trip to the fridge to pour yourself a fresh cup? (Or, better yet, a mysterious third option?) Post your best argument for your preferred night water drinking routine in the comments.

This Night Water Cooler is a relic from Night Water's days on Substack, and the original comments are stuck over there. Luckily, copy and paste exists. Here's a selection of night water preferences from the original thread:

Water from a bottle on the bedside table. Do not want fridge cold water when you've already had to leave your cozy blanket cocoon. But an open glass on the table is risky—it may fall during a California earthquake in the night.

Here’s just me—truly nothing beats a late night trip to the bathroom to quench an unbearable thirst. Simply cannot make it to the kitchen, the bathroom sink tastes different but I’m so thirsty? It doesn’t matter

A glass of water on the floor next to an old La Croix can is the way for me... Love it when I accidentally knock the can over and it clinks and clacks further under my bed to join the rest.

I have a minifridge right beside my bed, so it's the best of both worlds for me!

Always water on my bedside table. Preferably in a mason jar, because it just feels more reliable than a glass. A sip of water, re-apply chapstick, back to sleep.

Gotta be a bottle from the night stand, no way I'm getting up, I've been using glasses though lately though because I like living dangerously.
